Writing texts is a necessary part of any education. Wherever you are studying, you are going to write assignments. It is how you learn to express your own opinion, making the opinion interesting and attractive.

Most of essay writing tasks demand from you a certain structure which you should follow. Almost every such structure includes an introduction. This is a part of writing where you are able to present some information about things you are writing about, goals of the work and methods you have used. A good introduction to an essay makes an impression on the reader. That can be a turning point for an academic custom essay and its mark.

1. Pin reader’s attention.

If you want to get a big readership for your text or just make someone interested in your text, this paragraph is the best place to do that. To achieve this goal you can use a variety of methods. You can give some shocking facts about your topic to astonish the reader. Some topics are interesting a priory and you don’t have to think a lot about it, but that’s a rare case. If you are not lucky, try to play with facts.

2. Point the purpose of the writing.

Academic rules oblige you to use a certain pattern while writing an essay. Usually, an introduction is a place where you state the purpose of the whole work. The statement is accompanied by the quick explanation. The further text depends on your requirements, but usually, you need to talk about methods, point out main ideas, literature you have used etc. Somewhere between those things you can tell people about astonishing facts, show your mastery of writing and make people interested in your writing.

3. Turning up to the text.

A good introduction is a logic beginning of your main part. When you do it sequentially and logically the main part will look more structured. You can always use your introduction to restore your chain of thoughts. It means you can use it in order to stick around the main topic all the time and to avoid some lyrical digressions. An introduction needs to outline your main problem to show its solution. It doesn’t mean you need to make conclusions at the beginning of the text, but you should bring a short solution of the problem.

4. Specify your main arguments.

In the introduction, you should present your most important arguments. Sometimes you have some “pro et contra” arguments. If this is your case you can take one’s side just at the beginning. Rarely you can make an intrigue and do not show what side you are supporting. Other types of essays sometimes need a thesis statement.

5. Convince readers in your competence.

It is very important to let readers understand that you are the one who knows the topic. If you do it, readers will less criticize you. In order to represent yourself as a competent writer, your overall introduction must make a proper impression. It is usually achieved by emphasizing on some unknown or rare facts making an interesting and unusual conclusion. Notice, that provocation isn’t the best way to make a good impression. If you make a provocative introduction, you will rather provoke readers for more questions and doubts.
